Picture of the Week – Loco on the Road!

with 3 comments

Caledonian Railway’s locomotive 123 was moved from the Museum of Transport to the Riverside Museum late last week. Here we see it (covered in a blue tarpaulin) being transported along Dumbarton Road in the West End of Glasgow.

Bright sunny days in Glasgow are a treat for any photographer, and white fluffy clouds are an added bonus! The daylight has given the colour in this image a saturated glow so the contrast of the blue tarpaulin against the green foliage helps draw the attention of the viewer to the subject matter of the lorry’s load. The big blue train trundling along the road certainly was a head-turner!
