Want to find out more about some of the stories going into Riverside Museum? Or discover the thinking behind the designs for some of the displays? Or the challenges facing conservators tasked with preserving a rusting and neglected steam locomotive?

The Riverside Museum Appeal has created a series of webcasts about the project, looking at the big immersive displays such as the re-created street and ship launch show. They also reveal some of the background, research and histories that helped shape the content of Glasgow’s new transport museum.

Here’s conservator Louise Lawson describing the mammoth task of returning the South African locomotive 3007 to Glasgow:

And here’s curator Aileen Strachan talking about a Riverside display that’ll show what it was like to be a teenager taking the tram to the dancing in 1960s Glasgow:
