Glasgow Museums photographer Jim Dunn has been short-listed for a prestigious photography award. His striking and atmospheric photograph of the Riverside Museum is one of 12 images that judges selected from more than 1000 entries. Jim and the other finalists now go through to a public vote. The winner will be announced on 19th July 2010.
The Art of Building photography competition, which is run by the Chartered Institute of Buildings, aims to highlight “the very best digital photography of the built environment” and to celebrate “the creativity of the industry, the passion of the people who work within it, and the impact their work has on those who make use of the final construction”.
Jim’s brooding image of the construction of Riverside certainly meets the CIoB’s criteria. Here’s Jim’s accompanying text:
Construction constantly means battling with not only unique structures but also fighting Mother Nature. Man ultimately succeeds in his goals.
Good luck Jim!
